The development team teased a new "Civ Draft" mode for ranked play, where players ban and pick civilizations before each match, similar to MOBA draft systems.

Civ Draft mode is in development. Players will ban 2 civs each, then pick from the remaining pool. This mode will be optional at first, with potential integration into ranked if community reception is positive.

What This Means For You

Civ Draft fundamentally changes how you need to think about your civ pool. You will need to be comfortable with 4–6 civs, not just your main. Start expanding your civ knowledge now.
